LED Lighting

LED lighting is an absolute break-through in energy efficiency.

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. Electrons moving through a semiconductor material causes tiny light sources to become illuminated. A small amount of heat is released backwards, and properly designed LED products are cool to touch.

The lights themselves are slightly more expensive to purchase than standard halogen lights, but the reduced heat loss, savings in power and durability means they pay for themselves in around 18 months.

An LED light will last around 50,000 hours, which is 25 times that of a halogen.
